The United Kingdom Has a Voice in the ECBF

26/02/2014 Transmission1 0

ECBF LogoThe UK finally has a voice representing all the CB users at the European Citizen’s Band Federation (ECBF) within this country. Dave Ogg is now the UK representative at the ECBF, an organisation that has worked hard to harmonise CB radio standards across the EU and bring agreements on the use of all mode CB radio equipment.

Dave said

“The Brigg and District Amateur Radio Club, which actively supports all hobby radio which includes CB Radio and 446 and its use and promotion is the organisation that is backing me. I was one of the groups four founder members and am the current Chairman.

President Lincoln II – CB or not CB that is the question!

24/12/2013 Transmission1 4

President Lincoln 2It looks like President have finally committed to launching the eagerly awaited Lincoln II multimode radio. Following on from months of speculation it would appear that the first radios will arrive at most dealers during the second week of January 2014. What isn’t so clear is whether the radio is a CB or Ham transceiver.  If you take a look at Presidents’ website you’ll see that it is listed under both categories – one as a Ham radio and the other as a curiously titled “not certified CB radio”! Whatever this means it appears to be good news in terms of the appeal for this radio.

TTi TCB-881 Multi Standard CB Radio Review

12/01/2012 Transmission1 12

TTi TCB-881 Box and Radio

The TCB-881 is TTi’s update on the popular TCB-880 CB radio that has now been discontinued. This new radio is similar in style to its older brother but features TTi’s DSS (Dynamic Squelch System) that can be found in all the new 2011 range radios from TTi. Another improvement is the DC input power handling of this radio. It can now be directly installed into vehicles with a 24V supply without the use of a voltage dropper.
